Newcastle upon Tyne is a notorius urban place stationed in Tyne and Wear. Newcastle determines its name from its footing of being on the banks of the River Tyne, as well as the castle created by Robert II of Normandy, the elder son of William the Conqueror. In the past being named Newcastle, the borough was a Roman settlement starting from the second century, under the name Pons Aelius. Newcastle is also prominent for its usually extraordinary football club Newcastle United, which currently houses stars such as England Striker Michael Owen. It was also the setting of the recent blockbuster movie Goal, which advertised the football club, as well. Whenever one speculates of Newcastle, one thinks of the Tyne Bridge which links Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. It was originally made up by Mott, Hay, and Anderson who also dreamt up the Forth Road Bridge. The bridge was then made, by Dorman Long and Co. The Tyne Bridge was also advertised in the movie Goal, which is about Santiago Munez, an aspiring football player who tried out for the Newcastle United football Club. Another neighborhood of curiosity is expressly St. James Park, the home stadium of Newcastle United.
